Scholarship Opportunities For Week 10/27/2025

Hey friends! If you’re on the hunt for scholarship money this week, I found four solid ones to look into. They each have different vibes and requirements, so there’s a little something for everyone. Let’s dive in.

1. Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Youth Scholarships

For middle- or high-school students interested in patriotism, leadership or civic participation,

The details:

  • Middle schoolers can compete for up to $5,000 through contests.
  • High schoolers can compete for larger awards (sometimes up to $35,000 college scholarships) for programs like the Voice of Democracy.
  • Check local VFW post – Deadline midnight, Oct. 31.

2. Elks National Foundation – Most Valuable Student (MVS) Scholarship

High school seniors: This is a big one. The Elks MVS scholarship is geared toward students heading into full-time four-year college.

The details:

  • Must intend to enroll full-time at a U.S. accredited college/university.
  • Awards vary (for the national MVS contest they can be large; e.g., some sources say up to $30,000) and the application evaluates scholarship (academics), leadership/community service and need.
  • Doesn’t require you to be affiliated with the Elks.
  • Deadline – November 12, 2025

3. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation – College Scholarship Program

For high-achieving seniors with financial need who plan to attend a four-year college

The details:

  • Must be high school senior in the U.S. (or territory/military base), graduating that spring.
  • Minimum unweighted GPA: ~3.75 or above.
  • Demonstrate financial need (family income up to around ~$95,000 for eligibility in many cases).
  • Awards are significant: vary based on student’s needs and cost of attendance.
  • Deadline – November 12 2025

4. Lamber Goodnow Injury Lawyers Scholarship

A more niche but useful opportunity for students (high-school or college) who are creative, innovative, or interested in “thinking outside the box.” Smaller award but less competition than ultra-large national programs; good for building your list of wins.

The details:

  • 500–750 word essay about how you’ve innovated, influenced positive change, or plan to.
  • Bonus points if you’re in a creative, tech, engineering, or leadership space.
  • They award several scholarships including a $1,000 college scholarship, a nursing scholarship, and law-school related awards.
  • Deadline often December 1.

That’s a wrap on this week’s scholarship round-up! Whether you’re all about big awards, passionate about giving back, or excited to share your tech ideas, there’s something here for you. Don’t sleep on those deadlines , Act Fast. Go for it, and good luck!

If you have missed last week’s scholarship post then here it is. Some might have passed their deadline.
