20 “Open When…” Envelope Ideas Every College Student Will Love

One of my favorite things to put together before move-in day isn’t expensive or complicated. It’s a stack of “Open When…” envelopes.
They’re simply envelopes with little notes, treats, or small gifts inside that your student opens during different moments throughout the semester.
When they’re homesick, stressed before finals, sick in their dorm, or celebrating a big accomplishment, they’ll have a little reminder that you’re thinking of them.
The best part? You don’t have to spend a fortune. Most of these can be put together with inexpensive items, handwritten notes, and a few dorm-friendly essentials.
Here are some ideas to get you started….but first here is the set of empty envelopes.

Final Thoughts
The gifts inside don’t have to be expensive. In fact, the thing most students remember isn’t the candy or the gift card…it’s the handwritten notes.
Those little letters become reminders that someone back home is cheering them on through every late-night study session, homesick moment, and big accomplishment.
